Beyond talking about what all the books repeat over and over again as "Qi" energy and "Gong" cultivation, there is an essence that the mind of the West still doesn't understand.
Qigong is not a weekend certification, Qigong is more than movement, breathing, or a fitness routine of choreographed movements like a ballet team. Qigong is to be part of a family.
For the Chinese, the solid foundation of a true Qigong promotes a harmonious mind, a radiant spirit like a diamond, and a lean, flexible, and strong body.
If it doesn't meet those characteristics then you are not doing Qigong.
After practicing this beautiful art for over 37 years, I realize the incredible transformation it has brought to my life.
I never imagined that one could progress to such levels and that I had the ability to find in my life great peace, harmony, happiness, health, and the vitality of a tiger at 55 years of age.
Being part of a Qigong family and having a Shifu is a blessing that will mark the rest of your life. That is something that only those who are part of that old school (that day by day is disappearing from this so-called modern world) will understand.
One of the things that caught my attention the most when I met my Shifu, Grand Master Yin Lung Tsa, and I still remember with great emotion, and respect, was when he told me: “Orlando, true men who want to do service to humanity are needed.”
Service to others was one of the first things I learned at the Tian Tan Temple.
At first, it was difficult for me to understand the concept of service, but when I was able to do it, it became one of the most wonderful feelings that someone can give to the world.
Over time, upon arriving in the United States and opening my own Martial Arts School, I discovered that when one does service to humanity from the heart, one is capable of appreciating the beauty of life. Life is the most wonderful and precious gift given to us.
Having other people practicing martial arts with you is a real blessing since it creates deep ties and that relationship becomes stronger when all together receive life skills from your Shifu, cultivating humility, respect, patience, love, and balance.
So if you are looking for an activity that promotes personal growth as well as a method of discipline and personal cultivation, join us and become part of our Sadana Center family.
Qigong is not a piece of paper...Qigong is to be part of a family and a lineage of Masters behind you.
Love & Qi!
Master Shifu Orlando Schiaffino
