According to Chinese medicine, all illnesses and pains are the direct results of blocked or stagnant Qi in your body.
Cleaning toxins from your body and mind is just as important as changing the oil in your car every 3000 miles. If you don't change the oil in your car, it will lose strength and eventually break down.
If you don't detoxify your body, toxins build up and you'll get sick.
Regular Qigong practice aims to not only release blockages that are in place but also to keep it flowing smoothly at all times.
When we talk about Qigong for detoxification we are talking about a combination of relaxation techniques, meditation, and a series of movements or forms that are executed with deep breathing to help create the free flow of Qi energy through the channels of your body.
For example, in Chinese medicine theory, the liver is associated with the Wood element and the eyes. The practice of opening and closing the eyes 36 times will create a strong liver.
Another powerful and simple way to keep the liver strong and clean is to promote the flow of Qi (vital energy) with self-tapping techniques.
Tapping techniques throughout our body release all energy stagnation and negative emotions.
Thus, according to Chinese medicine theories, energy is released and expands like wood and we return to youth like eternal spring.
Now you know that excessive emotions like anxiety, stress, sadness, and anger interrupt the normal flow of Qi.
In my classes at Sadana Center, I teach the Tai Chi of the Wudang Mountain or Tai Chi of the 8 Immortals, which relates to the eight forces: heaven, lake, fire, thunder, wind, water, mountain, and earth.
It is a very effective and powerful practice for regulating the flow of Qi by calming your mind and relaxing your body.
Enjoy the following video that shows the Taichi of the 8 immortals.
