Dear Qi friends,
In 2006 I did my first "Baisi Tea Ceremony". The Baisi Tea ceremony is an ancient tradition that I learned from my Mentors when I started the practice of Martial Arts more than 30 years ago.
When a person chooses and joins a martial arts school, there instantly starts a Shifu-student relationship.
I have had many students since I opened my center. Some trained as a hobby, but there are others that the more train, they want to get a deeper understanding of the essence of the Internal Martial Arts. That's why I have students that have been with me for many years. They truly identify with the art and make a lifetime commitment to the art and the Sadana Center family.
There are other students that would like to be in the Instructor's Program where they can obtain a certification to teach TaiChi & Qigong.
After 14 years, we still celebrate the "Baisi" at Sadana Center. Last night, we did a "Tea Ceremony" for students that received the Grade of TSU-TSAO (Blue Sash).
We made some changes due to the pandemic, but we were able to do a tea offering.
When the Shifu or Master of the Kwon offers the tea to his disciple, in the traditional sense, dictates that the students are being accepted in the Kung Fu family.
Consumption of the tea (offered by the Master) without hesitation symbolizes one's loyalty and their promise to preserve the knowledge of the Kung Fu family and the system.
Watch the short video about last night's Tea Ceremony.
CONGRATULATIONS our dear Dragons sisters: Carmen J, Deborah R, and Grace G.!!
After 3 years of constant dedication, discipline, and respect for our legacy we welcome all of you to the family of Tsu Tsaos (School's instructors).
I never mind having a lot of students, I don't want to be popular. I do not wish to be "the best teacher", only I want to teach properly. And if only one student is capable of assimilating the teaching as it is, I am sure that this will be a better contribution to American society than teaching instant coffee "QiGong".
Simo Ana and I are grateful that we were able to do this small tea ceremony for our students before the year end. Exchange positive energy with people we care about elevates our emotions, clears our minds, and helps us to connect to what really matters.
