  • What is the Difference Between Tai Chi and Qi Gong?
    Qigong is an ancient Taoist exercise practice (formally known as Dao-yin) used as a preventative and restorative exercise health system for mind and body. From 4000 years ago. Tai Chi uses the principles of Qigong movement as a basis for an internal martial art, practiced today mainly for health benefits.
  • What Tai Chi style do you teach?
    Tai Chi has many different styles. At Sadana Center we teach the Tai Chi of the Wudang Mountain, which relates to the eight forces: heaven, lake, fire, thunder, wind, water, mountain, and earth. To learn about our classes click here To learn more about Shifu Orlando click here.
  • What style of Qigong do you teach?
    Master Shifu Orlando Schiaffino has three decades of Qigong experience working with Qigong masters. He is the only teacher in the Tampa Bay area who teaches the three different Qigong schools (Buddhist, Taoist, and Shamanic schools). There are many forms of Qigong practiced throughout the world.   • What to wear or bring to class?
    Wear a comfortable shirt, and loose, comfortable clothing. Please bring your personal mat and pillow. Classes are done barefoot. When you enter the center you will see a mat where you can leave your shoes. If you have any physical limitations or restrictions, there will be chairs available. Limit personal items brought into the center. A locker is available to store students belongings.
  • Do we need to lie down?
    The class begins with breathing exercises that are done lying down or sitting in a chair. If you have any physical limitations or restrictions, there will be chairs available. You can sit in an upright chair with your legs uncrossed, feet on the floor, and your arms and hands resting either on the legs or in the lap.
  • Do you need to be fit to do Tai Chi or Qigong?
    Our classes are suitable for beginners, no matter of fitness level or physical condition. You don't need to have excellent coordination or strength to get started. Even if you think you're out of shape, these are form of exercises you can do. Each student works within their own range of motion and capabilities. You can even practice the movements in a chair. The movements can be adapted to the individual, everyone is welcome to join the classes, we are happy to accommodate all levels, abilities and encourage beginners who have not exercised in a while.
  • I have physical limitations. Can I still practice Qigong?
    Qigong can be practiced by almost anyone of any age and physical ability. Qigong is something that can be completely adapted based on your own needs, desires, and limitations. If you have any physical limitations or restrictions. (you are in a walker, you cannot stand up for a long time, etc.) we recommend you schedule a personal training session. You will be seated and Shifu Orlando will modify various Qigong exercises to accommodate your specific physical limitations. We offer single Personal session, and Packages of 3, 5, 10, and 20 sessions. For more information click here
  • I can't do classes twice a week.

  • Do I need experience to join?
    No previous martial arts, TaiChi, Qigong or meditation experience necessary. Our classes are aimed at beginners.
  • Am I too old for TaiChi or Qigong classes?
    Our students range from 18 to 80 years old. Some students will stand and move throughout the class, and other will use chairs when needed.
  • Do you teach children?
    Our classes is for adults from the age of 18 upwards.
  • Can I do a free trial before I register?
    We don't offer free trial classes. We are a specialized center in Qigong and Tai Chi, and we only work with small groups. We do offer a single Tai Chi and Qigong class for $25 Purchase a single class here. Call us at (727) 458-9123 to ask for availability in our classes.   • What is your Registration Policy
    Sadana Center offers a month-to-month contract which the student can cancel at any time. To cancel this agreement the student must email a cancellation notice 30 days prior to the next billing date. Telephone requests, text message, or Facebook messenger WILL NOT be honored.
